Big thanks to Anna for accommodating me and my family to visit Fitzroy island! Her service was top class. This was a last minute tour and she did everything she could to make this possible, from the moment I called right through the end of the tour she was superb! Her recommendations and guidance made our tour an unforgettable experience.

FAQs

Tropic Ana Cairns' mission is not just to provide bookable experiences. I want to be a great source of information for all my travelers. If you have a question about any of my services, I have the answers you need.

Can you swim in Cairns?

Yes and no !

The beaches of Cairns, although heavenly, are also the refuge of saltwater crocodiles. It is therefore not recommended to swim, with the exception of certain supervised beaches and inside the nets (like at Palm Cove or Trinity Beach)

From December to March, it is also jellyfish season (the “jellyfish box”) but it is still possible to go to the Great Barrier Reef, the companies providing you with a wetsuit.

In the center of Cairns, you can enjoy the lagoon (free)

When is the best time to visit Cairns?

Between April and October, during the so-called “dry” season. The days are warm and sunny and the evenings cool

The wet season (November to April) is generally rainy, but you can also have beautiful sunny days (I spent last Christmas on the beach with friends around a barbecue) The vegetation is even more beautiful , so it is not impossible to enjoy the beauties of Cairns

What to do in Cairns if it rains?

Almost all activities can be carried out in Cairns during the rainy season, except obviously in the event of a cyclone or more torrential one. In this case, you will be refunded 100%

The vegetation in the rainy season is even more beautiful and it is not uncommon to have beautiful sunny days.

How long does it take to visit Cairns and its surrounding areas?

The answer is that it would take a lifetime!

However, depending on your desires, a minimum of 5 days can allow you to enjoy the "Musts" (Coral Reef, Daintree Rainforest, Waterfalls, Kuranda and Flight over the Coral Reef)

Take a look at my suggested routes :-)

Is it advisable to rent a car/campervan?

Definitely ! If you want to discover hidden places, take the time to stop wherever you want! Renting a vehicle will also help you save money.

However, if you are not confident about driving in Australia, some companies offer guided tours.
